Good (insert time of day) inmates!
How are you finding the week so far? Good I hope! Despite the recent negative things going on in the world right now. In particular my heart goes out to the ladies over in the US right now. The asylum is disgusted by what your supreme court has done. I’m not knowledgeable enough to comment on the details really, but I don’t really see a positive side right now. All I could think to do was write ‘Empires Fall’. Stay strong sisters! I’m having a little bit of a low one myself this week regrettably. I don’t know if that’s come across in the recent poems. I’m alright honestly, it’s just one of those weeks. It hasn’t stopped me writing and that’s the most important thing eh?
So, on to todays main event. The Harlequins writing music! I shared a clue for todays musical theme earlier on my social media pages. I’ve been trying to get more people (friends in particular) to follow me over on Facebook in particular. It seems I get more views from there than my other pages. Did anybody see the clue anyways? I thought it was a good one.
I mentioned the whole Roe v. Wade thing briefly a moment ago, and that may give you a good idea of our theme today. Todays theme is women. Female music artists to be specific! The fairer sex, as they say. They make up around half of the population of the world, so it stands to reason they’re equally as great at creating wonderful and thought-provoking music. I’m pretty much stating the obvious here because I think we all know about female musicians. It’s not exactly a bizarre concept. Haha! Opera singers, female rockers, popstars and a huge amount more. I’m going to try and share five of my favourite female artists here for you all to marvel at. No “girl bands” though. Certainly not a fan of those, just like boy bands.
With that said, join me as we delve into the musical minds of feminine artists the world over!
Joan Jett – I Love Rock ‘N Roll

Tarja – Until My Last Breath

Adele – Send My Love (To Your New Lover)

Babymetal – Da Da Dance

Amy Winehouse – Back To Black

And there we have it! Obviously there were countless possible options for this particular list from every genre imaginable. Not too easy to limit it to only five, but there you go. Maybe I’ll do another list on this theme in the future. That seems like a fun idea. I hope you’ve enjoyed my choices for this week anyway, let me know what female artists you guys really enjoy. I’d love to hear of some new ones.
So, let’s get the weekly shilling out of the way eh? As previously mentioned, I’m trying to push my social media sites a little bit. So, I have a page over on Facebook, an account on Instagram and a page on Twitter as well. Please consider following me over on those as well eh? Also, if you really enjoy what I do here at the asylum, please consider supporting me over on the Ko-Fi page as well. Thanks for everything!
Until next week, have a very crazy day inmates!
