Hello there inmates!

So, another chilly December week is here (or halfway gone) and the Christmas adverts are beginning to become rather grating. The music is always going to be a negative for me when it comes to this time of year. So, I would not expect a ‘Xmas-themed’ list if I’m honest. It’s like “Yes, I get that it’s Christmas but do we need to be bombarded?!”, it’s tiresome. Anyway, enough about that, how have you all been? Keeping those creative furnaces burning hot I hope. Especially in this cold weather!

So, it’s time once again for the Harlequins writing music! As always, I shared a clue for the theme earlier on today. Did anybody see it and guess correctly?

Well, the musical theme for today is Bereavement. Oh yes, a tad less positive than last week eh? It’s something that I think every single person on this planet has experienced at least once in their lives. That includes musicians as well you know. As such, many artists have created songs based around the feelings of grief or more specific to the individual that they have lost. Somebody may write a song about losing their mother in particular, for example. Another artist may write about the life story of a family member. Music has a unique way of shining light upon emotional distress and so I feel it’s the best way to deal with feelings of sorrow and loss. I hope many of you would agree.

Would you kindly join me as we delve into the musical minds of solemn artists the world over!

And there we have it! Are there ninjas cutting onions in here? I can feel my eyes water a tad. I hope you enjoy the musical choices this week. Please check all of these artists out, they all deserve the attention!

Speaking of attention, I’m on social media you know! The asylum has a page over on Facebook, an account on Twitter and even a page over on Instagram. Please follow me over on those too eh? It really helps me out! If you enjoy what I do here at the asylum, please consider supporting me over on the Ko-Fi page. Thanks for everything!

Until next week, have a very crazy day inmates!

Good day inmates!

I hope that you’re all having a wonderfully crazy and safe day today! I must admit it’s been something of an uneventful week since my previous non-poem post. I’ve just been keeping my head down and writing everyday as normal. The weather has been very up and down once again, but the temperature has remained friendly. I’ve found myself feeling a little bit down the last few days, though I must confess I have no idea why. Some of you may have noticed a few reasonably “depressing” poems recently. I just needed to relinquish some angst I suppose. Best way to get it out eh?

So anyways, on to happier pastures! It’s time for part 40 of the Harlequins writing music! I’m very surprised nobody has begged me to stop making these by now! Haha! I remember when I began, I thought it’d only be 3-4 posts and everyone (including me) would grow bored of them. Alas, here we are! It’s time to share five more musical artists that I love listening to while writing. Or sometimes just when I’m chilling with a book. As always, I’ll try to keep it varied! We all like to listen to different kinds of music after all! Let’s see what we get today eh?

So, join me as we delve into the musical minds of extravagant artists the world over!

So there we have it for yet another tome of the Harlequins writing music!

Some well known artists there this time eh? Not everything I listen to has to be the most obscure Disco-goth-banjo-rock with opera vocals you know! I truly do listen to all sorts. I hope that you give these artists and their songs a chance anyway! I don’t believe you will be disappoined!

As I mentioned last time, I have a Facebook page, Twitter page and an Instagram page. I post some random stuff on each of these, as well as clues for each days poem a few hours beforehand. Sometimes I post weird photos of random objects in my room and “IRL” adventures! As always, if you like what I do here at the asylum, please consider supporting me over on the Ko-Fi page! Thank you as always! I may or may not have copy and pasted that from last time! Haha!

Until next time, have a very crazy day my dear inmates!
