Souls be bound,
Occupying spaces within each other,
A synchronicity spanning star systems,
Soulmates under an astrological plan,
Designs with axes where two souls’ synastry can be observed,
The key is in the natal signs,
Locations of hearts etched on a chart,
Horoscopes blended together,

Humans are not mere flesh,
Though men are from Mars,
And women from Venus,
Souls are the domain of the very suns,
From Aries to Pisces,
Bound by birth date and name,
Under stars and astral bodies,
Compatibility left to the flux of the universe.

Around me lies a void of dead space,
A cold vacuum,
An orbit of haunted shipwrecks and scrap debris,
Broken spacesuits and heartbroken asteroids,
A desolate astral barrier,
Silent and lonesome,
It’s between me and the cosmos of society,
Their planets are lightyears away,
Muted and hazy,

I don’t mind it though,
I shut off the oxygen valve myself,
Flushing myself out.

Pull aside the silk veil of the tent,
On this fateful eve,
Approach the chiromancer in violet,
Her face obscured by textile facade,
Offer your precious hand,
The map for your soul,
A blueprint of your potential future,

Your hand is a portal for eyes,
Eyes trained to read the weave of ages,
The lines and shapes,
Heart and head and life,
Signs drawn on to your palm,
From the planetary bodies above,
Venus and mercury and the sun,

It is a curious art,
Pseudoscience to some,
But reality to others,
It begs the question of your internal monologue,
Do you believe the reading?
Or will you take the reins,
With your own hands?

I once left my body,
Off into the night,
Not into a dream,
Nor into my mind,
But careening into the sky,
Imitating a cosmonaut,

I found myself in an ethereal state,
Riding the coat tails of a comet,
Like a wandering gentleman,
Swept right up,
On a cruise through the cosmos,
Surfing through the silver,

I saw stars die in colour,
And be born from the void,
Attempted slow dances with meteors,
Finger painted with nebulae,
Excursions upon the edges of black holes,
A stellar vacation,

Despite the Earths assertions,
Of sheer importance,
Declarations of eminence,
I could barely glimpse it in the black,
It became an afterthought,
Just another speck.

I once had a dream,
An esoteric dance of the mind,
A story of astrological language,
I made a raft out of fingernails,
Crafted by strength of Taurus,
With the helping hand of a ram of course,
Upon cautious and melancholic stone,
To skirt a blue sea of pisces scales,

For miles I voyaged,
Waters of empathy,
Drifting upon balanced winds of Libra,
Winds of expression,
Dodging ornery waves of piscine goats,
Sent by the aquatic bearer of divinity Aquarius,
I escape by the skin of my teeth,
I disembark above Cancer rockpools,

To be greeted by conjoined twin dockhands,
Eager to assist,
Onward to bend the knee to a lion king,
And his assertive fiery mane,
His scorpion royal guard eye me suspiciously,
Barbed halberds at hand,
His equine archers nock arrows in caution,
Tension grew like noxious clouds,

When it seemed their patience had run thin,
The hand of his princess out cast,
Her name Virgo,
The other stars faded,
An embrace commenced,
But then I awoke,
And the stars were gone,
Only sunrise remained.
