Hello there inmates!

Sorry this is a tad late in the day today, I’ve been having a slower day. A lazy day, as they say! How are you all? Having a nice week so far? I’ve been having a good week. Keeping busy and such. The weather has been a bit hit or miss, it’s certainly a bit warmer but we’ve had some rain as well. I’ve got plenty of writing done, and not just poems believe it or not. Just some side stuff I’ve been trying out, I’m not sure if it will make it on to the blog. We’ll see I suppose.

So, let’s have some writing music eh? Did anybody see the clue to the theme today? I think I posted it about the usual time. Did anyone guess the theme? Well, I’m going to tell you now! So get ready!

The theme for todays music is the wild west! Oh yes, the realm of old-timey cowboys and native Americans! Six shooters and dusty roads of a stereotypical western town. I’ve always found the time period fascinating. I’ve enjoyed quite a few western movies over the years, from the classic Clint Eastward ones, to the remake of 3:10 to Yuma. Video games explore the genre often, as they are wont to do, with games such Red Dead Redemption. I remember playing an old Sega Megadrive game called Sunset Riders (I think) in my younger years, along with my brother. I think it stuck with me.

As for music, the magic of the wild west has captured the imagination of artists on many occasions. Whether it be about the harsh lives of cowboys, the natural beauty of the Mesas or just the highjinks in a old saloon. I find that a lot of rock bands take cues from the genre too, both in their guitar styles and occasionally their lyrics. So, I think I have rambled about nonsense for long enough. Let’s see what songs I’ve chosen to represent this theme eh? You guys are here for the music after all. Let’s get to it shall we?

Be sure to check out these artists as well, they all deserve the attention. I very nearly put ‘Cotton-Eyed Joe’ on the list but I thought you guys didn’t deserve that punishment. Haha!

Hello there inmates!

As always, I hope you’re all having a suitably mad (and productive) day! Things have been rather busy here at the asylum as well. Lots of writing and lots of giggling!I’m still in the process of sorting out my writing desk and general geek area. It’s coming along swimmingly, but my laziness gets the better of me on some days! The voices often tell me I need to get off of my ass, but what do they know?!

Anyways, back to the purpose of this post. Wonderful musical offerings that help me concentrate on my scribblings. We all know how soothing or energising music can be. I try to keep it as varied as I can, since the notes and tunes coalesce and produce thoughts of true creativity. That was rather profound wasn’t it?

So, without delaying any longer, join me as we delve into the musical minds of stunning artists the world over!

So there we have it for another volume of the Harlequins writing music! What a good time I have making these posts! As always, I hope that you give all of these artists a look. They most certainly all deserve it! I Feel I should also take this chance to suggest you look at my older writing music posts as well, if you enjoy this one of course! There’s quite a menagerie of musical marvels in those. Thank you for everything my fellow inmates!

So, until next time, have a very crazy day inmates!
