Hello there inmates!

I hope that you’re all having a wonderfully splendiferous day today! I hope you’ve all been keeping safe as well, dont make me get the cattle prod! Jokes aside, its been a reasonably busy week. Spent a great deal of time demolishing a conservatory with my dad. Its hard work, but awfully fun. Not to mention cathartic! I’ve been feeling a little disconcerted that my recent work has been a tad overly political. I was wondering if you immates felt that it was a positive or would prefer I stick to my usual bizarre lane.

I’ve finally realised just how close we are to halloween now. Ive managed to find some stuff to begin painting my face again so I can’t wait to bring the Oldschool Harlequin back to life again. Not just for halloween either! Hehe!

So its time for our next edition of the Harlequins writing music today! I must confess it is beginning to become quite a strain to drag new bands out of my head this week. Its possible I may have repeated at least one of these bands, though the importance of said songs will be no less illustrious. Just a word of warning there! Haha!

So, join me as we delve into the musical minds of seminal artists the world over!

Dorp – London Out There

Grendel – Timewave Zero

King Diamond – Masquerade Of Madness

Lady Gaga – Alejandro

Miracle Of Sound – Liquid Nights And Disco Lights

And there we have it for another sample of the Harlequins writing music!

Again, apologies if I have repeated a couple artists. I’m fairly certain that even if I have, Ive chosen different songs so that helps a bit. As always I hope you check out all of these artists and give them some love!

So, now for the social media bit. I have a prescence on multiple platforms by now. I have a Facebook page, a twitter account and an Instagram page. Also, if you enjoy what I do here at the asylum, please consider supporting me over at the Ko-fi page. Thanks for all of your support!

Until next time, have a very crazy day inmates!

Good day inmates!

Here’s hoping you’re all having a exquisitely crazy day! I’m doing quite swimmingly myself, despite recent stress. There is, however, one thing that’s been bothering me recently. I’ve been suffering from a touch of writers block you see. I know some people claim it’s a myth but I’d have to disagree, it can be quite a significant barrier. Ironically I nearly have another poem ready on the subject of writers block. Irony itself. I’ve been trying to listen to a huge variety of music these last few days in the hopes that it will dredge up some absurdity to write about. A great deal of this music I haven’t listened to since I was a teenager, it’s been a rather nostalgic trip.

It’s time for part 18 of the Harlequins writing music! Once again I will have another list of five bands that I like to listen to while I write. As I mentioned before, I’ve been listening to a veritable feast of musical artists recently. Many of which I haven’t listened to in years. Inspiration will always come from the oddest places after all. From gothic to electronic; from metal to punk, from rock to rap, I always try to keep it varied. We wouldn’t want one of my sources of inspiration to stagnate now, would we? Hehe!

Now, let us delve into the musical minds of harmonious artists the world over!

Uninvited Guest – Devils Toybox

Dorp – Rollercoaster

Finger Eleven – Slow Chemical

Breed 77 – Zombie

So there we have it for another volume of the Harlequins writing music! I do very much hope that you have enjoying my list and that you feel inclined to check out some of these bands and also some of those in my previous writing music posts. You may be surprised what kinds of music you find!

Oh, one more thing before I go back to the padded cell. In my previous writing music post, I asked if anybody had any advice about getting a paid account on WordPress. I just thought I’d extend that request to this post as well, so I’m going to copy and paste what I said in the last post.

“There was one other thing I wanted to talk about quickly here at the end. I’ve been considering changing from a free plan on WordPress to a paid one. The opportunity to have my own web address/domain and eliminating advertisements are pleasing as it is, but I want to know about other benefits of doing this. Is it likely to increase traffic at all? Is it expensive? I was hoping anybody reading this would be able to tell me if it’s worth forking out money for the blog. I was hoping somebody who has a paid account could tell me how it’s helped or hindered them. Basically, I just want to know if it’s a good idea or not. If there are any good web-Samaritans out there, let me know in the comments. Thank you so much.”

So, as always my friends, have a very crazy day inmates!
