Hello there inmates!
So, another chilly December week is here (or halfway gone) and the Christmas adverts are beginning to become rather grating. The music is always going to be a negative for me when it comes to this time of year. So, I would not expect a ‘Xmas-themed’ list if I’m honest. It’s like “Yes, I get that it’s Christmas but do we need to be bombarded?!”, it’s tiresome. Anyway, enough about that, how have you all been? Keeping those creative furnaces burning hot I hope. Especially in this cold weather!
So, it’s time once again for the Harlequins writing music! As always, I shared a clue for the theme earlier on today. Did anybody see it and guess correctly?
Well, the musical theme for today is Bereavement. Oh yes, a tad less positive than last week eh? It’s something that I think every single person on this planet has experienced at least once in their lives. That includes musicians as well you know. As such, many artists have created songs based around the feelings of grief or more specific to the individual that they have lost. Somebody may write a song about losing their mother in particular, for example. Another artist may write about the life story of a family member. Music has a unique way of shining light upon emotional distress and so I feel it’s the best way to deal with feelings of sorrow and loss. I hope many of you would agree.
Would you kindly join me as we delve into the musical minds of solemn artists the world over!

Speaking of attention, I’m on social media you know! The asylum has a page over on Facebook, an account on Twitter and even a page over on Instagram. Please follow me over on those too eh? It really helps me out! If you enjoy what I do here at the asylum, please consider supporting me over on the Ko-Fi page. Thanks for everything!
Until next week, have a very crazy day inmates!
