Yesterday has passed the torch,
The hurricane has subsided,
And we sit amongst the wreckage,
The mess we lived through,
Fractured rubble and scrap metal,
Broken toys and ruptured sinew,
A clutter of blood and alloy,
Now it’s a new day,
We try to put it all back together,
Giving it a go,
Sticky tape and rivets,
Sewing limbs and organs back on,
Welding and patching up the chassis,
Shoring up the heart and mind,
We can always rally and rebuild,
Yesterday resulted in debris,
But today,
Today we try again.

Yes. This. I realize you don’t celebrate Christmas as such, but I was rather upset because I have developed a head cold and due to avoiding exposing my granddaughter to illness that could be devastating for her health, we are delaying our family celebration until next week. I was SO upset last night I was sobbing. So today I feel very much like the patched up critter in your drawing. But hoping to be well enough by next week that we can still do something together.
And in the meantime, there’s always FaceTime. Not quite the same but it is far better than no contact at all. Had an afternoon chat with little one and her mama today and I feel tons better.
Apologies for the late reply, its been a hectic week. I’m so sorry to hear you’ve been unwell, I hope it goes away in short order. It’s a shame you could not see the family, but hoping you’ll be well enough to very soon.
Facetime does indeed help! I can vouch for that myself. I’m sure they were overjoyed to see you still. 😊

It worked both ways!
We did have our family celebration last Wednesday evening. Very different from past holidays, but thankful to be together, which in the long run is the main point anyhow.
As you can tell, I have been erratic in my comments and posts myself. I’m back to my grandma routine this week and little V is very active for being only 3 months old. It is a joy to watch her grow, I had forgotten how quickly they change at this age! (Well, I knew they did, but to actually see it in person is mind blowing.)
Absolutely, the point is to spend time with family. I hope that you had a wonderful time in any case.
Well, I’m sure you’ll get back up to speed my friend. I’m sure I’ll be here for the foreseeable future so not to worry. I’m glad you’re enjoying being a grandma. 😊

Best gig ever! 😁
That’s what I like to hear!
