Who can put us down the worst?
Whom do you think?
Those closest to us of course,
Our inner circles,
They indeed have the most volatile ammo,
The most cutting,
Friends know things that enemies only guess,
They know our weaknesses,
The nicks in our cuirass,
Whether intended or not,
They can get the closest with the blade,
And strike the most vital zones,
Keep friends close,
And enemies closer they say,
But a knife is still a knife.

Yes! Exactly.
“They can get closest…” how profoundly true. I would like to think, call me an optimist, that those closest have a short distance from us to lend a helping hand too.
You are quite right there too. That’s the other side of the coin I suppose. βΊοΈ

I hate to say what a hard lesson to learn, because I refuse to learn such lesson.
It’s not an easy one to learn in my experience. π

Betrayal is a bitter bile. Forgiveness gives us a chance to taste the goodness of life again.
You’re not wrong, yet I struggle with the second part.
The Oldschool Harlequin
Forgiveness is not a one off decision, it can be an on-going decision till we are free from the past. Our heart is hurt, we won’t feel like forgiving. My friend, trusting that when we decide to forgive, our heart then will catch up. Our will is so strong that our heart follows. π€
That is a very good point. It’s a process basically right?
The Oldschool Harlequin
Yes, it’s a process takes perseverance. Stay resendful, stay sad, stay angry also takes persistence and energy. It’s what we choose to use our energy on. Free will is forever powerful. π
Couldn’t put it better myself. Haha!
