Good day inmates!

Just a short little update today. I’ve not been in much of a writing mood today, but I still wanted to post a little something. Once again, I’m simply going to post a little something here again.  It’s part of something larger that I am working on, something of a worldbuilding exercise of sorts. That’s all I’m going to say on that though. Another one of my little random drawings. It will become clearer in due time my friends! Speculate if you will!

Is Harley spouting nonsense? What is this thing? What does it want? How did it come to be?

Have a gloriously crazy day inmates!

Hello there inmates!

I hope you’re all having a great day! This is going to be a pretty short update for now, though I do intend to have another post later on tonight. I’m not going to tell you what that post is going to be though. * Cue maniacal laugh*

When I was typing up that writing music post yesterday, I had a thought. Looking through the blog archives for the other writing music chapters (if you’re interested) is a little bit of a nuisance. I simply thought I’d type up a quick ‘catch-up’ post for those who missed the older writing music chapters. Much like how I did with some of my previous works here. After all i do intend to create some more writing music posts in the future, so i thought it’d be nice for people to be able to see the older ones that they might have missed. All for your convenience my dear inmates!

So there you go! Quite a selection so far, to be honest. As always, I would recommend listening to all of these bands. Many are well known, many are not. In my eyes, they all deserve the attention they get.  Anyway, thanks for reading as always. I hope you give my older writing music pieces a try. Now, if you don’t mind I’m going to go screech like a cat to music…

Have a very crazy day inmates!

Good day inmates!

I hope you’re all having an enormously crazy day! It’s time for another chapter of the Harlequins writing music. I can’t believe I’ve actually created 10 of these posts. I was half expecting somebody to have told me to shut up about my music taste after the first chapter! I’ve been quite busy on getting some new poems and other miscellaneous writings complete this week. This music has helped enormously! I can’t really imagine writing in silence anymore.

Now, let us delve into the musical minds of incredible artists the world over!

Mr. Strange – Twisted Family

Skillet – Monster

The Tenth Stage – Cinderella’s Revenge

Knife Party – Bonfire

Apocalyptica – Fade to Black

And there we have it for another edition of the Harlequins writing music! I don’t think I’d be anywhere near as willing to write as much as I do without my musical backdrop. I gives me ideas, it keeps me calm and it is quite simply something I enjoy. It is almost like an unseen assistant. As always, check out all of these bands. I try to keep these lists reasonably varied so hopefully there will be something you’ll enjoy regardless what you’re musical creed is. Thank you for reading my friends!

Have a very crazy day inmates!

That thing there?
That fetid and putrid thing there?
That stinking sack of necrosis?
That rotting monstrosity?
That musty cadaverous creature?
That insult to the senses?
You want to know about it?

That’s one of the writing dead.
See how it feebly grips the quill,
Rotting hands writing reams of scripture,
In this sacred crypt-cum-factory,
Soul-less eyes barely keeping track.
We constructed this abominations from our dead,
As hopeless in death as in life.

You see them now?
Rows upon rows of scribbling cadavers,
At oaken desks built from coffins,
Rotting in harmony with one another,
Decomposing guts spilling to the floor,
Skin decaying and yellow,
Scratching parchment in concert.

What do they write?
Further death sentences of course!
A most unholy charge,
Perfect for these unholy beasts,
Devoid of mind and soul,
Bereft of emotion and morality,
Without hope or aspiration.

I hate this one in particular,
This disgusting shell of a life,
I loathe its dead adoring face,
I despise its silver locks,
I abhor its stunted form,
I knew it in life,
It once called me Father…

Hello there inmates!

I hope you’re all having a fine day! I know I said this was going to be last night, but it seems that I either fell asleep or simply forgot. Apologies for that! I’ve finally got around to one of the awards that I’ve been nominated for recently. This time it is something known as the “Sunshine award”. A truly suitable award name for this time of year, since it’s beginning to warm up here in the UK. In my friend Becky’s words, this award is “passed on by bloggers to fellow bloggers who positively and creatively inspire others in the blogosphere”. How very uplifting!

I was nominated for this award by my good friend Becky over at Creativity is Key! It’s not the first time Becky has nominated me for an award and for that, I am very grateful. So yes, once again Becky, thank you very much for considering me again. It means a lot!

Now this award, so far as i can tell, is very similar to the Liebster award in terms of rules. The only major differences that I can see are the name and the fact there is no notified number of people you must nominate. Anyway, allow me to be more specific.

The rules for the Sunshine award as follows:

1. Display the award certificate on your website.
2. Announce your win with a post and link to whoever presented your award.
3. Answer the 10 questions given to you.
4. Present the award to deserving bloggers.
5. List 10 questions for them to answer.
6. Drop them a comment to tip them off after you’ve linked them in the post.

Right! So now I must answer the questions that Becky gave me. Here goes!

Where do you find inspiration?
I find inspiration in a number of things. I take inspiration from music, books, video games and anime. Ideas just sort of “poof” into existence as i watch/listen to these things. I can’t really explain it. I occasionally get rather bizarre ideas when I’m sat gazing out of the window. Inspiration is mysterious like that i think.
Do you have a particular audience in mind when you write?
Not at all, to be honest. If someone enjoys what I write then great. If not, then fair enough.
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I’m not sure i really remember. I think I wanted to be a video game designer or otherwise work in video gaming.
Why/When did you start your blog?
I believe it was either October or November last year. I started it as a kind of gamble I suppose, I simply wanted to know if anyone would enjoy my sort of work.
Who is your favorite writer or poet?
It’s got to be HP Lovecraft, without a doubt. Such an inspiration, in writing terms at least.
Do you ever get writers block? What do you do about it?
Of course, who doesn’t? I quite often just sort of wait it out, I’m not too knowledgeable of writing block techniques.
Are you currently in love?
Most definitely! I’m in love with my wonderful girlfriend Lee!
Is there a certain place that you prefer to write?
I will almost always write in my own bedroom. It’s something of a sanctum for me.
Do you do anything else creative?
Well, I do attempt to draw occasionally. The ideas for my drawings often come with the ideas for my writing. I’m not really very good at it though.
What was the last thing that made you think “wow…”?
I think I saw a random animal picture on Facebook. Can’t really remember what it was, but I remember it being rather exotic.

I hope those answers are satisfactory! Now I must nominate fellow bloggers for this award. According to the rules, there is no designated number of people i must nominate. Therefore, I’m just going to nominate 5 bloggers. It seems like a nice, simple number.

http://ramiungarthewriter.wordpress.com/ Rami Ungar the Writer

http://musingsofthebard.wordpress.com/ Musings of the Bard

There we are! Five extremely deserving nominees. Be sure to check all of them out. Now i must attempt to come up with ten questions for my nominees to answer. Here goes!

1. Do you post your writing/work anywhere else?

2. Do you listen to music while you write?

3. What sort of music?

4. What piece of writing/work are you most proud of?

5. Who is your favorite author?

6. What inspires your writing/work?

7. What is your favorite color?

8. How do you deal with writers block?

9. What would be your favorite thing to drink while writing?

10. Describe yourself in 3 words.

So there you have it. Hope those questions are interesting enough for you. So that’s my response post to the Sunshine award. Thank you once again Becky for nominating me. Be sure to check her blog and those of my nominees as well. You shan’t be disappointed!

Have a very crazy day inmates!

The moon is an icon to humanity,
A symbol some would say,
Of mankind’s progress,
An affirmation,
A testament,
A statement,
An idol.

Humanity reached the stars they said,
We are chosen they uttered,
The moon was conquered,
Mankind sipped victory,
What cavalier simpletons!

Do they not see the moons dark side?
Do they not watch as it turns away from us?
As if to hide an ominous grin.
The moon laughs at us,
Even smirking,
As we revel in our imagined victory.

Humanity reached the stars they said,
But as the moon turns,
It cracks a devilish grin.
You see,
The moon knows what’s waiting for us out there…

Hello there inmates.

Hope you’re all having a gorgeously crazy day! This is just going to be a short little note about something that made me smile. The other day I posted my most recent poem, titled “Moonlight“. I’ve been quite happy with the response to it so far, thank you all very kindly for taking the time to read it. I hope you enjoyed it!

That is not what I am writing this post for however. Moonlight was my 100th post, so I felt that it was worth enshrining that fact in a post. I’m rather proud of this fact, to be quite honest with you. I never expected to get this far, but thanks to all of you WordPress people I have. I doff my hat to you as always!

Clearly, I’m not stopping there. Expect more madness! Oh yes, expect much more madness! I have two more poems in the works right now. Expect one of them later on tonight, in fact. I also have another piece about the mysterious “Asylum Mythos” on its way as well. Not to mention the fact I still have an award from my friend Becky to get finished! Yes, I have a number of pieces planned already, the asylum shall grow!

Thank you all once again and have a very crazy day!

I am hers,
And she will be mine.

I gaze upon her countenance nightly.
I worship her glowing radiance,
I marvel at her saintly luminosity,
I dote on every chilling whisper,
I cherish her mysterious embrace,
I admire her womanly curves.

I am hers,
And she will be mine.

Bah!
I speak not of some humble woman,
But of the grandest beauty in this mortal coil,
See how she watches over us,
Even as the treacherous sun turns its back.
If only I could caress her.

I am hers,
And she will be mine.

This void betwixt won’t keep us apart forever!
I’ll tear the very heavens down to kiss you,
To bask in your lunar glare,
To massage your crater-strewn form,
To take a place in the cold beside you,
To waltz in orbit with you.

I am hers,
And she is mine.
Or else.
